Diwali is the time of the year when the whole family comes together to celebrate the festival of lights. It is the time when people forget their past and try to start everything afresh; keeping the past behind and in our Indian culture, for every new beginning, one must always start it with a sweet mouth. Diwali is the time when sweets are prepared with love, care and lots and lots of ghee. Sweets are enjoyed by all and the children just never get tired of sweets. In this article, we will tell you how to prepare three sweets for your Diwali without much of a hassle. The sweets are Besan Ke Laddoo, Modak and Suji Halwa.

1. Suji Halwa


Suji Halwa is not only loved by Indians and offered by us to our gods in rituals, but it also happens to be a very tasty and well-known delicacy all across Europe and the United States as well. It takes about 45 minutes to prepare this dish, the ingredients of which include Ghee and Suji by Desi Atta Company, cardamom powder and dry fruits such as almonds and cashew nuts, for garnishing.
Heat around 2-3 tablespoons of ghee in a pan and add a cup of Suji by Desi Atta Company and half a cup of cardamom powder and sugar depending on your personal taste. Mix them well and cook them for 2-3 minutes and add nuts to the whole mixture, keeping the flame on low heat. Add two cups of boiled water and mix it well and cook it on medium flame, after you have covered the pan for around 5 minutes. Garnish it with some dry fruits and voila!, your dessert is ready to be devoured.


2. Besan Laddoo


Now, who does not love Besan Ke Laddoo? It is loved by all as it is so easy to make and tastes heavenly. It takes about 15 minutes to prepare this dish as it has been made easier thanks to the readymade mixture from the Desi Atta Company. So, all you need as ingredients are a packet of Desi Atta Company’s Besan Laddoo mix, a cup of melted ghee and some dry fruits such (almonds, cashew nuts, pistachio) to garnish before it is served.
Making Besan Laddoos has never been this easy to prepare before. All you have to do is take a bowl and fill it with the Besan Laddoo mix and add a cup of melted ghee to it. Mix the whole thing well so that it takes the shape of dough and start shaping them into 20-25 round balls, depending on the size of laddoos you prefer. In the end, garnish the laddoos with dry fruits and it is ready to be eaten without any problem!


3. Modak


The third and the final sweet dish in this list is Modak. It takes around half an hour to prepare this dish and is actually quite easy to make. All you need is a cup of flour, water, Modak atta by Desi Atta Company and a tablespoon of ghee and for the filling; you need a tablespoon of ghee, grated coconut, and jaggery.
Heat a nonstick pan and add the grated coconut and jaggery with ghee with cardamom powder and dry fruits and cook it on low flame till the mixture starts to solidify a bit. Keep on stirring to prevent it from burning. Now, to prepare the outer layer with modak atta, you need to knead it into a dough with ghee and shape it into a round disk, fill the centre with the filling and join the edges at the top. Cook the modak in a steam pan for about 10-15 minutes and your modaks are finally ready to be devoured.
