Navratri is one of the most celebrated Hindu festivals in our country. Navratri actually takes place 4 times in a year, out of which only 2 are celebrated all across India- Chaitra and Sharad Navratri. Hindus fast during this period of Navratri or nine days to show their devotion to Goddess Durga (also known as Shakti) and her nine other avatars. People, to show their devotion towards the Goddess, wake up early in the morning to bathe and do different kinds of pujas or havans to welcome the goddess in their homes. Navratri is a lot more than just a dew auspicious days- it is the time of the year when the whole family comes together to celebrate the victory of good over evil and also to enjoy a few delicious dishes which are made in this period of nine days.


1. Kuttu Ka Dosa
If you are a fan of dosas then this the perfect dish for you to try out rather than eating the same old kuttu puris. Kuttu ka dosa is very easy to make and is not time-consuming at all as it takes around an hour to prepare. The ingredients are boiled potatoes, ghee, sendha namak, chili powder and chopped ginger for the potato filling and for the dosa; you need Kuttu atta by Desi Atta Company, Arbi, ajwain, chopped ginger, green chillies and ghee. Kuttu ka dosa is best served with coconut chutney.


2. Sabudana Thalipeeth


Who does not love Sabudana? It is the most widely consumed food during the period of fasting for nine days. It is loved by all because of its nutritional value and its taste. 3. Singhare Atte Ka Halwa


Another well known and enjoyed dish during the period of Navratri is Singhare atte ka halwa. It is a sweet dish which has the richness of dry fruits. The ingredients to prepare this halwa are ghee, Singhara Atta by Desi Atta Company, sugar, green cardamom seeds and dry fruits which include almonds, cashew nuts which are chopped and added as garnishing before it is served. The halwa tastes amazing when served hot.


4. Kuttu Atte Ki Puri


We can always try new dishes during the Navratri but there is this one dish which no one can get over and it also happens to be everyone’s favorite- Kuttu atte ki puri. Another reason why it is loved by all is that it is very easy and takes only about half an hour to make it. The ingredients are Kuttu Atta by Desi Atta Company, potatoes, and sendha namak.


5. Samak Dosa


Another dish for the dosa fans, Samak dosa is really easy to make and is considered to be the most savoured dish during the fast. This dish is so tasty that some people even have it on normal days as well. The ingredients to make this dish are Samak Atta, Singhara Atta by Desi Atta Company, Sendha namak and ghee for the dosa and for the filling; the ingredients are boiled potatoes, sendha namak, red chilies, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and chopped ginger and chopped green chilies.
