Beetroot Wheat Atta: For Your Good Health
Beetroot, also known as beet, has been gaining popularity as a new super food due to recent studies claiming that beets and beetroot juice can improve athletic performance, lower blood pressure, and increase blood flow. - BEETROOT GUJIYA
Ingredients: 1.5 cups Beetroot Wheat Atta from Desi Atta Company, 1/4 tsp Salt, 2 Tbsp Ghee or melted butter, 1/2 cup water or as required, 1/4 Cup of almonds, cashew nuts, pista, dates, walnuts, raisins, 1/4 cup of desiccated coconut
Method: Pour the atta and salt in a bowl, add ghee and use fingers to crumble. Add water in quick succession and make a smooth dough. Keep it covered for 20 minutes. Make a rough crumble of all the dry fruits leaving some bitable pieces. Add coconut shavings and mix well. If you like your gujiya sweet then go ahead and add some Jaggery. Mix well and keep aside. After that, make tiny balls out of the dough. Put oil on the rolling pin before rolling it out. If it sticks add more oil. Line up the filling in the centre line and make a sealed semi-circle wrap. - BEETROOT MATHARI
Ingredients: 2 Cups Beet Wheat Flour from Desi Atta Company, 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour, 1 Tbsp Cumin Powder. 2 Tsp Red Chili Powder Salt to taste, 1 Tbsp Ghee, Oil for Frying
Method: Mix the dry ingredients with ghee and knead dough by adding water little by little. Once the dough is ready, roll a large piece of dough and cut it with a cookie cutter. Prick the matharis and deep fry it in oil. Store the crispy matharis in an airtight container and consume within a week as you enjoy them with your evening tea or coffee.
- BEETROOT COOKIES
Ingredients: Butter 1680 gm, icing sugar - 930gm, Beetroot Wheat Atta from Desi Atta Company - 2160gm, Rawa - 400gm, Vanilla essence - 10 Ml
Method: Preheat oven at 180 degrees. In a bowl mix the butter and sugar till there are no lumps of dry sugar. Add the ingredients to the butter to form dough. Once the dough is ready, set it aside in the fridge to set. Make cookie size rounds on the baking tray and bake it at 180 for about 12 minutes.
